Water Agency Electrical Engineer II

Join the County of Sonoma Water Agency (Sonoma Water) as a Water Agency Electrical Engineer!

Requirement: To be considered qualified for this position, possession of a valid certificate as an Engineer-in-Training issued by the State of California Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors is required at the time of application submission.

By joining Sonoma Water as an Electrical Engineer II, you will be a part of the Engineering Division and will report to a Water Agency Principal Engineer. You will work closely with Senior Engineers to support capital projects in the planning design, and construction phases as well as the Operations and Maintenance Division by maintaining documentation of technical systems. Additional responsibilities include:

• Documenting electrical systems

• Preparing and revising electrical plans, schematics, schedules, details, and specifications

• Performing electrical load calculations

• Modeling and simulating electrical control circuits

• Supporting submittal reviews

• Preparing PG&E applications coordinating service changes

• Participating in design reviews at project milestones

The ideal candidate will work well in a collaborative environment with high engagement; can explain complex issues to individuals with varying levels of technical knowledge, and possess experience with:

• Engineering design and construction related to electrical power systems and motor controls

• Water or wastewater treatment systems

• NFPA 70 and NFPA 70E

Salary: $118,924.10 to $144,553.93 Annually
